Travel Review Harvest Moon Holidays, Scotland
Surrounded by long, beautiful beaches, and picturesque farmlands, Harvest Moon is an idyllic outdoors getaway in the heart of nature. They offer ‘Glamping’. Never heard of it? I hadn’t either! It is glamorous camping and is fantastic!
I travelled to Scotland from Cape Town to attend my best friend’s wedding at Harvest Moon Holidays, and decided to stay on after the wedding for a week of glamping! Situated just outside the small fishing town of North Berwick in Scotland, Harvest Moon is a must-see!
The cottages are basic but come with little luxuries, making you feel like you are camping while offering treats like hot water and an en-suite bathroom. Dozens of candles are provided for your stay, and the beach house décor makes you never want to leave!
With no electricity; there is no room for TV’s, laptops, cell phones, or iPads. The sounds of nature and crackling of the fire are all you need to feel rejuvenated. Couples or families come together around the stove to heat up the kettle for tea and coffee in the mornings, hot chocolate at night or to warm the oven for cooking. Meal-time becomes an interval for people to come together, to connect and enjoy each other’s company.
There are plenty of nearby activities to keep you busy during the day. Activities on the farm include a small playground and farmyard for the children, never-ending beaches and bike trails. Nearby activities include horse riding, fishing, wake boarding, a family park, Seabird centre, Tantallon Castle, Golf & Country Club and more!
Staying at Harvest Moon makes you slow down; to enjoy the small things that are often overlooked and taken for granted.
