Roadtrip! Caledon to Knysna
We kicked off the morning with a final soak in the mineral pools at Caledon Hotel & Spa. I woke up early to sneak in a solo swim, as Nick wanted to snooze. But just as I slid into the warm water thinking I’d get a moment of peace… I look up and here comes Nick walking up the stairs with a wry smile. These pools really are impossible to resist!
We had the pools all to ourselves, which was pure bliss : quiet, misty morning air, warm water, and no one else around. Total heaven. Then it was time to pack up, grab breakfast, and check out.
From Caledon we made our way to Mossel Bay for lunch. We stopped at The Pavilion, which looked promising. Seaside views, open deck, etc. I ordered the prawns. Let’s just say… I wouldn’t recommend them unless you’re into disappointment and regret. #JustSaying
Welcome to Knysna
Finally made it to Oyster Creek Lodge in Knysna, where we were greeted by the lovely Gerhard, who showed us to our room and gave us a free upgrade. What a champ.
The views are spectacular. Our room is super comfy and has everything you need: electric blanket (yes please), good water pressure, and… wait for it… CREMORA for my morning coffee. Look, I’m not fancy. Give me Cremora and a warm bed and I’ll give you 7 stars.
Sushi & Shopping
After checking in, we went to the Knysna Mall to explore and followed that up with Chinese food + sushi from Wu’s – and YES. Just YES. Hit the spot perfectly.
