Groot Constantia Wine Estate, Cape Town
Unpopular opinion: you don’t need to drive all the way to Franschhoek or Stellenbosch for a proper Cape Winelands moment!
There’s something about Groot Constantia…
Maybe it’s the old Cape Dutch architecture, the vineyards rolling away beneath the mountains, or the feeling that these walls have watched generations come and go.
We wandered, took far too many photographs, admired the history… and eventually arrived at the logical conclusion to any Cape wine farm adventure: Two glasses of wine and nowhere else we particularly needed to be 🍷

And yes, appreciating the architecture with a glass of wine absolutely counts as cultural enrichment 😉
Some places are beautiful to photograph. Others make you want to stay awhile. Groot Constantia manages both.
Which Cape Town wine farm could you happily lose an entire afternoon at?
